Trustlinks have announced Growing Together for Dementia – a new therapeutic gardening project starting June 2024 until May 2025.
The group will provide those living with dementia a chance to:
> Improve wellbeing in a friendly and supportive environment
> Socialise with others who are also living with dementia
> Benefit from a selection of meaningful activities designed with the help of an occupational therapist and our training provider ‘Dementia Adventure’
Growing Together for Dementia offers a more nature based alternative to the more traditional indoor day centres, and the project is suitable for people living with Dementia who have mild to moderate symptoms. They also accept referrals for people who are awaiting a diagnosis.
Sessions are completely free until May 2025 and take place every Tuesday at the Hamelin Trust garden in Rochford beginning June 2024.
In addition to the therapeutic gardening activities for adults with dementia, support sessions for carers and family members will also be available.
